Assalamualaikum Stylistas of Abaya Suraya!
I was again felt honoured to have the chance to work with a good friend of mine, Shabana. I have worked with Shabana as her make-up artiste for a few other assignments but this time was for her interview with Mingguan Malaysia. I love doing make-up for her since she has very unique features thanks to her mixture of Indian, Pakistani & Malay. When I informed her that she was selected for this interview, although she has already graduated from International Islamic University Malaysia, she was willing to come all the way from her country Singapore to attend this interview and photo shoot.
Some details about Shabana, although she is a graduate of Islamic Banking however as a business lover like me, she was busy commencing her own Restaurant named Hikmah which offers Malay & Padang cuisine. Not only that she also opened a lodging service above her restaurant at Clark Quay. This beauty with brains also bagged herself the Best Student award for her Masters Degree in Islamic Banking in United Kingdom. Besides pursuing for her PhD now, she is also the TV co-host of SIS along side with Diana Amir and Anne Ngasri on TV9.
Oh yes I was so excited when she was dressed in two of Abaya Suraya's Jalabiya collection. I seriously admire very tall and slim models, so Shabana as an experienced model herself really did wonders posing for the camera in the Jalabiyas. Even the reporter and photographer complimeneted her work because she did not need much direction.
Instead of having the shoot at Utusan's office, the photographer and reported decided to have it at this Lake Garden because they claimed that the Jalabiyas are just so beautiful it would look great to have a garden as their background. It was quite a panicking moment when there was a monkey grabbed the edge of the white and pink Jalabiya during the shoot. I said it was because the monkey liked Shabana but she said the monkey has great taste in fashion haha. =D

Sekali lagi Sue berasa berbesar hati kerana dapat bekerjasama dengan salah seorang kenalan baik Sue, Shabana. Sue telah bekerjasama dengannya untuk beberapa kali sebagai jurusoleknya namun kali ini ianya untuk wawancaranya bersama Mingguan Malaysia. Sue amat menyukai menyoleknya kerana beliau mempunyai raut wajah yang unik hasil kacukan India, Pakistan dan Melayu. Apabila Sue memaklumkannya tentang pemilihan beliau untuk rencana ini, walaupun beliau telah bergraduasi dari Universiti Islam Antarabangsa Malaysia, beliau sanggup untuk datang dari negaranya Singapura bagi menjayakan wawancara dan sesi foto ini.
Sedikit latarbelakang Shabana, beliau ialah graduan Perbankan Islam namun sebagai pecinta perniagaan seperti Sue beliau sibuk menguruskan perniagaan restoran masakan Melayu & Padang juga rumah rehat di Clark Quay. Si Jelita yang bijak ini juga mendapat Anugerah Pelajar Terbaik untuk Ijazah Sarjana Perbankan Islam di United Kingdom. Selain sibuk menyelesaikan Phd sekarang, beliau juga ialah pengacara bersama rancangan SIS bersama Diana Amir & Anne Ngasri di TV9.
Oh ya Sue amat teruja apabila beliau menggayakan dua Jubah Berwarna-warni dari koleksi Abaya Suraya. Sue amat meminati model yang tinggi lampi dan langsing maka sebagai seorang model yang berpengalaman, Shabana menggayakannya dengan baik sekali. Bahkan wartawan dan jurufoto sendiri memujinya yang tidak perlu banyak bantuan.
Di sebalik kebiasaan melakukan sesi foto di pejabat Utusan, jurufoto dan wartawan berpendapat Taman Tasik ini amat sesuai sebagai latar Jubah yang mereka akui sebagai amat cantik. Agak kecoh juga apabila seekor monyet menarik hujung jubah putih dan merah jambu sewaktu sesi foto sedang berjalan. Sue mengatakan monyet itu menyukai Shabana manakala beliau mengatakan monyet itu mempunyai citarasa fesyen yang bagus. =D
