I was contacted to work for an episode of a make-over programme which will be aired on RTM 2, titled Fashion Factor.
As we all know there are numerous make-over programmes already aired on TV, and most of them end up being quite similar to one another. However Fashion Factor although it still has the fashion-victims-being-given-a-head-to-toe-transformation by professionals such as fashion designers, hairstylists and make-up artiste, they pull out a difference by not focusing on one target group only for every episode. For example, the episode I was doing focused on the suitable fashion & look for Muslimahs wearing hijabs. Previous episodes which they have shot before highlighted on fashion for men and fashion for plus size women.

I was feeling a pleasant surprise when I had one of my Facebook friends, Nourel as one of the 'Fashion Victims'. Basically I know that she is a very stylish person on Facebook, but yes for the programme's purpose in educating the viewers she became a fashion victim. The make-up products were sponsored by M.A.C while since this episode focuses on Muslimah fashion, it was relevant that Hajaba was chosen as the sponsor of the episode.

Sue telah dihubungi untuk bekerjasama bagi satu episod program menata rias bernama Fashion Factor yang akan ditayangkan di saluran RTM 2.
Sebagaimana yang kita ketahui, terdapat banyak program sebegini di TV, dan kebanyakannya menyerupai satu sama lain. Walaupun Fashion Factor masih mempunyai konsep yang sama iaitu mengubah rupa mangsa fesyen dengan bantuan para profesional seperti pereka fesyen, penggaya rambut, jurusolek, namun mereka membawa perbezaan dengan memberi fokus kepada kumpulan target berbeza-beza untuk setiap episod. Contohnya, episod kali ini fokus kepada Muslimah berhijab. Episod-episod sebelum ini yang telah dirakam memberi penekanan kepada fesyen lelaki juga fesyen wanita berbadan besar.
Sebagaimana yang kita ketahui, terdapat banyak program sebegini di TV, dan kebanyakannya menyerupai satu sama lain. Walaupun Fashion Factor masih mempunyai konsep yang sama iaitu mengubah rupa mangsa fesyen dengan bantuan para profesional seperti pereka fesyen, penggaya rambut, jurusolek, namun mereka membawa perbezaan dengan memberi fokus kepada kumpulan target berbeza-beza untuk setiap episod. Contohnya, episod kali ini fokus kepada Muslimah berhijab. Episod-episod sebelum ini yang telah dirakam memberi penekanan kepada fesyen lelaki juga fesyen wanita berbadan besar.
Sue berasa agak teruja apabila salah seorang kawan Facebook Sue, Nourel telah menjadi salah seorang 'Mangsa Fesyen'. Hakikatnya beliau seorang yang amat peka tentang fesyen, namun untuk mendidik para penonton beliau telah menjadi mangsa fesyen. Produk solekan telah ditaja oleh M.A.C manakala untuk tajaan pakaian episod ini, ianya relevan untuk Hajaba memainkan peranan.
Fashion Victim 1 : Widaad for the Office Look
Widaad has very smooth, fair complexion already so she did not need much help. Basically since she was chosen to wear the apparel suitable for a day out, or a day at the office, I opt for neutral shades for her. However to add up enhancement for her eyes, I still put on a pair of natural looking fake eyelashes.
Of course fake eyelashes are unnecessary for the daily look, but why not it was for TV anyway and it is a trend for some women to put on fake eyelashes for daily wear just for the extra beauty fix. =)

Mangsa Fesyen 1 : Widaad untuk Gaya ke Pejabat
Widaad memiliki kulit yang sangat cerah dan halus maka beliau tidak perlukan banyak bantuan. Pada asasnya beliau telah dipilih untuk menggayakan pakaian harian yang sesuai untuk ke pejabat, maka Sue memilih tona-tona semulajadi untuknya. Namun, untuk menambah seri pada matanya Sue telah mengenakan bulu mata palsu yang kelihatan semulajadi.
Sememangnya untuk rupa harian tidak memerlukan bulu mata palsu, tetapi memandangkan ini program TV jadi apa salahnya, tambahan kini memakai bulu mata palsu untuk aktivit harian menjadi trend untuk kelihatan lebih cantik menarik. =)

Fashion Victim 2 : Nourel Hiddayah for the Glamourous Evening Look
It was such a coincidence to meet my Facebook friend for the first time. She is a very stylish person actually but since this is to educate TV viewers she willingly became a fashion victim. She comes from mixed parentage of Malay & Punjabi, so seriously I admire her sharp stunning features. The only problem was, prior to the shoot she went for a vacation at Port Dickson, so her face was terribly sun-burnt. Her skin was very dry and some parts were peeled off it made me scared that any contact would cause her pain, fortunately it did not.
Thus concealer and foundation were thicker to prep her skin for a smooth, flawless touch. Since she personally loves the the Middle-Eastern make-up look I really focused on her eyes by making them look super glamourous. Thick feather-like Shu Uemura fake eyelashes were used. Some people would be scared at the first look of them unattached, however lucky me she dared to experiment and trusted me so alhamdulillah, the final look was admired by the whole crew involved. =)

Mangsa Fesyen 2 : Nourel Hiddayah untuk Majlis Makan Malam yang Glamor
Ia merupakan kebetulan bertemu kawan Facebook Sue buat pertama kali. Beliau merupakan seorang yang sangat bijak berfesyen namun demi mendidik para penonton TV beliau sudi menjadi mangsa fesyen. Beliau dilahirkan dari kacukan Punjabi dan Melayu, maka jujurnya Sue amat mengagumi raut wajahnya yang cantik dan anggun. Masalahnya cuma, sebelum sesi rakaman, beliau telah bercuti di Port Dickson dan menyebabkan kulitnya terbakar dek cahaya mentari. Kulitnya menjadi amat kering dan sesetengah bahagian kulitnya mengelupas, Sue berasa takut yang setiap sentuhan akan menyakitinya, alhamdulillah tidak langsung.
Maka penyamar noda dan bedak asas lebih tebal untuk menjadikan kulitnya kelihatan halus, dan solekan menjadi sempurna. Memandangkan secara peribadi beliau meminati solekan ala Timur Tengah, Sue fokus pada solekan mata agar ia kelihatan benar-benar glamor. Bulu mata palsu ala-ala bulu burung dari Shu Uemura telah Sue gunakan. Kebanyakan orang akan berasa risau melihat bulu mata tersebut sebelum dipakai, namun Sue beruntung kerana Nourel seorang yang suka bereksperimentasi dengan fesyen dan mempercayai Sue maka alhamdulillah, hasil akhir disukai dan dipuji oleh keseluruhan krew yang terlibat. =)
